Biography:
Lisa has 39 years in the fitness industry, training/coaching all ages and levels, as well as competing at the college level in Volleyball. She has experience in the rehabilitation industry as a physical therapy assistant at the Cottage Rehabilitation Hospital of Santa Barbara where she created the first group fitness program for those recovering from a stroke. After years of teaching group fitness and running, knee injuries side-lined her from high impact activities and she switched to Pilates where she was certified through IMX Pilates, including mat, reformer and finished coursework in Advanced Spinal Health.
In 2009, Lisa was diagnosed with Myofascial Pain Syndrome, spinal stenosis, and degenerative disc disease and was unable to walk more than a mile without being in chronic pain. She learned about Egoscue Postural training for chronic pain and interned at Motion Unlimited the local Egoscue clinic and learned how to change her posture to mitigate symptoms in her own life. Today she is feeling great, and can relate to anyone who has been in chronic pain.
